Hello and Happy New year!
This week’s podcast, I am delighted to host Ollie Bray, Strategic Director at Education Scotland. Ollie is one of three strategic directors at Education Scotland and has responsibility for curriculum, pedagogy and innovation at Education Scotland.
We talk about the work of Education Scotland including the Professional Learning that is offered on their website. There are a few different courses that are online and self paced. I personally have completed the Aspiring Middle Leaders one and found it very useful and worthwhile.
Our main discussion focused around the Curriculum Improvement Cycle which is currently taking place. The Improvement Cycle is an update or a refresh on CfE and is an aim to declutter the current curriculum and make it more streamlined. For more information on this and a look at the draft Numeracy Framework. Head to their website.
Some other further reading that might be of interest that we discussed is.

The conversation was very insightful and was refreshing to hear and the importance of RME was understood and valued by Education Scotland.
I would love to know if you listened what you thought.
