“What Even is RME” is a way of capturing conversations with RME, RMPS, RERC, and Primary teachers. Research into RE in Scotland is so thin on the ground, and teachers are often in single-person departments where time often cannot be given to reading academic papers. The best professional learning is often the informal conversations that occur during tea breaks or when teachers can get together. This podcast is a way to capture these conversations and find out about what is happening in RME classrooms, engage in discussions about research, and find out how to practically use resources.
My episodes fall into three categories:
- Inside my Classroom with… A relaxed conversation with a look into a typical day in an RME classroom.
- Deep Dive: Conversations with researchers, policymakers, or educational leaders who want to talk about RME in a different way.
- Show and Tell: Guests present a resource or approach they’ve created or used. We discuss its application and how others might adapt it. This is important because the practical use of resources is very important. There are many resources, videos, and websites, but how can we use them in the classroom?
